Free Traffic and Web Site Marketing
BlogRush Does It for Bloggers and Webmasters
Meet New Neighbor on the Net

BlogRush, New Net Neighbor
Independent bloggers are always looking for more traffic. And readers are always looking for outstanding blogs. BlogRush brings bloggers and readers together.

BlogRush, a new service for bloggers and webmasters, launched in September, 2007. You could call it a traffic exchange network. The concept evolved from the Blog Roll of Favorite Sites that’s used a lot in the blogger community. BlogRush is a much-needed way to encourage web site traffic. I foresee a mega-sized future for this marketing strategy.
How BlogRush Markets Your Web Site
Sign up with BlogRush and get the free widget, a piece of code that you place on your web page. It looks like a theater marquee. Do you see it on this page in the left hand column? The BlogRush widget marquee has headlines and links to 5 good blogs on similar topics. Each time the marquee appears, it shows new headlines, so that all BlogRush members get their turn in the spotlight. This provides publicity and new traffic for blogs and brings new eyes to superb masterpieces like Surfer Sam (aw, shucks :-)
BlogRush is Free Traffic for Bloggers
BlogRush is 100% free. There’s no money involved, either revenue or cost-wise. You get credits, called syndication credits, every time your page shows the BlogRush widget marquee. You also get credits whenever a blogger clicks this link and uses the free signup at BlogRush. When the BlogRush marquee shows your headlines on other sites, there’s a deduction from your credits. BlogRush schedules all the headlines and balances the accounts for us.

New blogs applying to join the network are reviewed by humans, yes humans. The only obstacle to success is the need for oversight, so that snarky members don’t take down the marquee on the sly. BlogRush depends, after all, on cooperating bloggers. They’ll work out this bug with a little software tweak, I imagine.
What's the Marketing Message for Your Blog?
The headlines on the BlogRush marquee are taken right from the RSS feed of your site. Those headlines, limited to only 40 characters long, about six words, will work best for you if they are compelling and topical. Some bloggers are setting up a separate RSS feed just for BlogRush, to custom tailor their headlines. If you’re a blogger who’s avoiding the subject of RSS feeds, now is the time to dig into this truly breathtaking RSS technology for getting your blog noticed. Ah, but I digress.

The brain behind BlogRush is John Reese of Florida. BlogRush just reached a milestone in its brief life when it delivered the one billionth blog headline into the blogosphere. Congrats, John.
